Alarm bells are sounding as an unusual baseball offseason moved into February with most of the top free agents still unsigned.
Player agent Brodie Van Wagenen added to the cacophony yesterday with a lengthy message posted to social media.
“Bottom line, the players are upset,” Van Wagenen wrote. “No, they are outraged. Players in the midst of long-term contracts are as frustrated as those still seeking employment. Their voices are getting louder and they are uniting in a way not seen since 1994.”
Evoking 1994 is significant. That’s the last year the players went on strike.
