BOSTON -- A few days ago, John Farrell was talking about Koji Uehara and Craig Kimbrel, the one-two punch at the back end of the Red Sox's bullpen.
"I don't think they really let the game unravel them," the manager said.
On Monday, though, it came undone like a spool of yarn.
Uehara and Kimbrel, typically unflappable when protecting even the slimmest of leads, wrecked the Red Sox's portion of Patriots' Day, the annual civic holiday that includes the running of the Boston Marathon and an 11 a.m. game at Fenway Park. Between them, they walked three batters, hit one and gave up two hits in the decisive four-run eighth inning of a 4-3 Toronto Blue Jays victory that wasn't clinched until pinch-hitting David Ortiz -- what, you thought he wouldn't make an appearance on his final Marathon Monday?
