BALTIMORE -- Joe Kelly’s 2015 season is likely over.
Interim manager Torey Lovullo said Wednesday that the Red Sox don’t plan on pushing Kelly back to the mound in the final 2 ½ weeks after Kelly left Tuesday’s game in the third inning with shoulder tightness.
Kelly flew back to Boston for further testing, but the Sox don’t expect it to be a long-term injury.
“It’s all precautionary,” Lovullo said. “We just want to make sure we find out if anything is happening there.”
Kelly, who couldn’t get loose and has been dealing with shoulder fatigue, finishes his season with a 4.
