J.D. Martinez's sore right ankle may keep him out of the Red Sox's lineup in Game 3 of the World Series Friday night at Dodger Stadium.
Martinez rolled his right ankle in the third inning of Game 1 on Tuesday night when he slipped and fell while rounding second base. Martinez stayed in the game and was able to play in Game 2, as well, but he was the designated hitter on those nights. In Los Angeles, because MLB believes it's proper to have the World Series played under alternating sets of rules, Martinez will need to be healthy enough to run in the outfield.
