The Red Sox will be without Jackie Bradley Jr. in their starting lineup on Saturday as the exciting center fielder is getting a much-needed day of rest against the D-backs.
Bradley hasn’t missed a game since he was given three days of paternity leave at the end of May for the birth of his first child. He’s played in 110 of the Red Sox’ 114 games and has played 978 innings on defense this season, more than any other major league outfielder.
He’s hitting .153 with one double, one homer, seven walks and 20 strikeouts over his last 16 games.
