On Wednesday, Jackie Bradley Jr. said he wouldn’t attend a White House ceremony to honor the Red Sox World Series win on May 9, joining Mookie Betts and Rafael Devers in doing so.
The center fielder visited the White House twice during the Obama administration following College World Series championships by the University of South Carolina in 2010 and 2011.
The decision was met with backlash, which Bradley responded to via Twitter on Friday.
“Riddle me…” he tweeted, attaching an iPhone Notes app screenshot.
“People have a right to their opinion and I respect that.
