Friday night the team banded together for a 15-1 blowout of Seattle. They had just received the terrible news about John Farrell’s lymphoma. And Kelly proved them wrong.
Kelly pitched six innings, allowing 4 hits and a run, walking 2 and fanning 6 with a variety of pitches His only lapse was a Kyle Sager homer in the first. It was his second consecutive strong outing as a starter. For now, that’s what he is.
Kelly is now 5-6 with a 5.
