Red Sox’ Rafael Devers will undergo an MRI on his left knee Thursday, manager Alex Cora told reporters.
After exiting Tuesday’s matchup against the Guardians due to knee discomfort, it appeared Devers was in the clear when he appeared back in the lineup the following night. However, Cora revealed the infielder would receive imaging to rule out structural damage and provide “peace of mind,” per NESN.
Devers has battled a string of injuries already early on in the season. After dealing with a shoulder injury earlier in the month, he collided with Tyler O’Neill on Monday.
