BOSTON -- The Red Sox made their final round of September callups on Tuesday, highlighted by the return of lefty Rich Hill.
For Hill, the pride of Milton, Mass., this marks his second stint with his hometown team. The Red Sox also invited Hill to Spring Training in 2014, but he didn't make the club.
The Red Sox are expanding to a six-man rotation at the end of this week, and Hill is a candidate to get a start.
"He's certainly a candidate to be that sixth starter," said interim manager Torey Lovullo. "We haven't quite mapped it out yet.
