While the big league Red Sox put on a show at Fenway Park Saturday, three of the organization’s best minor league players put their talents on display in Texas.
Roman Anthony, Marcelo Mayer, and Kyle Teel, who are currently listed as MLB.com’s No. 14, 7, and 24 prospects respectively, appeared in the league’s Futures Games festivities. Anthony competed in the Futures Game Skills Showcase while Mayer and Teel played in the Futures All-Star Game.
Both events took place at the Texas Rangers’ ballpark in Arlington, Globe Life Field.
The first-of-its-kind Skills Showcase, which will be televised Sunday, featured eight players whose end goal was to finish with the most points by displaying the best bat control.
