The Red Sox headed into the Bronx for a 3 game set with the Yankees. Sox fans were getting to see the major league debut of rookie Henry Owens who was just called up from Pawtucket for a spot start. Owens showed some nerves in the first inning, but then showed that promise that Sox fans have been hoping for in the later innings. Unfortunately for Owens he took the loss as he left the mound in the 6th with runners on and the Yankees jumped all over the Sox bullpen.
Henry Owens got the distinction of his first major league start being at Yankee Stadium, as part of the most talked about rivalry in baseball.
