The 25-year old left-hander who went 9-6 with a 2.53 ERA in 18 starts last season for the PawSox is currently 2-3 with a 4.64 ERA in seven starts for Pawtucket. Johnson who appeared in 1 game for the Red Sox last season was looked to be an important depth piece heading into the 2016 season, but it looks like baseball will at least for now be taking a back seat in Johnson’s life.
It was revealed on Saturday that the Red Sox had placed the left-hander on their temporary inactive list while he seeks treatment for anxiety.
