The Yankees wake up today down 3-0 in the World Series, having been once again humbled by Freddie Freeman and the Dodgers. Damn shame, if you ask me, but if you’re the rare Yankee fan in these parts, I have good news: It’s not over.
It probably seems like coming back from a 3-0 deficit deep in the postseason is impossible, but it’s not. People forget this, but 20 years ago, in 2004, the Yankees went up three games to zero on the Red Sox in the American League Championship series, one year after beating them in seven games in the round in humiliating (but ultimately fruitful) circumstances.
