I attended Wednesday’s 10-5 Red Sox loss to the Nationals, at which the Globe’s Jim Davis took the lead in the Photo of the Year competition.

This isn't that photo, but I'd say this is the general gist of Wednesday.

I did not write after it, however, because the general feeling I had was the same awkward one that the Globe’s Nick Cafardo did.
