The Red Sox have lost five in a row, ten of their last 13, and 18 of their last 27 games. If they had merely gone 14-13 in that 27 game stretch, they would be just a half game being KC, and one game behind Minnesota, only needing to pass one of them for a playoff spot.
Instead, they now need a miracle run to close the season.
The good news? Perhaps the worst team in the history of modern baseball will be in the opposing dugout tonight.
