To be a born-and-bred Red Sox fan living in the land of the AL West is sometimes a strange experience. I live in Seattle these days, and there are crossovers between the Sox and the Mariners, sure. They both have passionate fans. Within recent history, these teams have experienced high highs and low lows. The teams and fanbases, despite reason for despair along the way, both seem to have a deep yearning to win and to be taken seriously.
