CCleveland Indians catcher Roberto Perez has been a defensive specialist since taking over the catching duties when Yan Gomes got hurt.
On Thursday, he was both an offensive and defensive specialist with a home run and a tag out at the plate in a one-run win over the Boston Red Sox.
The offense
Perez is about as unlikely a choice to be a postseason star as any player in baseball. He hit .183 in 153 at-bats during the regular season, which ranked 376th out of 378 players with 150 at-bats.
