When you think of modern day home run hitters who excelled at a young age, Alex Rodriguez, Albert Pujols and Ken Griffey Jr. have to be at the top of the list. Below them, ranking seventh all-time for most home runs hit before turning 28, is Giancarlo Stanton, who slugged 267 homers before his 28th birthday last week. Stanton might have been much closer to A-Rod’s record of 345 homers before age 28 had he not had four trips on the disabled list in his first eight years. In terms of at-bats per home run, Stanton is among the game’s all-time best.
