The first prospect dealt to the White Sox from the Red Sox in last year’s Garrett Crochet trade has reached the majors.
Infielder Chase Meidroth was promoted to Chicago on Friday and promptly made his MLB debut, coincidentally against Boston, his former organization, the same day. The White Sox’ No. 8 ranked prospect batted seventh and played second base.
More notably, Meidroth reached base in all four of his plate appearances. He drew three walks, including a four-pitch walk in his first PA in the second inning. Meidroth’s first hit came against starting pitcher Sean Newcomb in the fourth inning, a ground ball through the right side.
