FORT MYERS -- Pat Light stands at 6-foot-5 and can touch 100 mph on the radar gun, but that wasn’t enough to earn Light a spot on the Red Sox roster this spring.
Light, a first-round pick out of Monmouth University in 2012, was optioned back to Triple-A Pawtucket on Tuesday as part of the Sox’ first big round of roster cuts. Light threw 5 u2154 innings, allowing five runs (three earned) on 10 hits and two walks while striking out one.
“He’s got a big arm,” Red Sox manager John Farrell said. “There’s no denying the velocity.
