The Red Sox have a new manager and handful of new faces on the roster.
Fenway Park’s got some changes this year as well.
Baseball’s oldest park — it opened less than a week after the Titanic sank in 1912 — will have new protective netting, 25 premium field-level seats (the “Jim Beam Dugout”), 30 more seats in left field and a bellyful of new food items. The 2018 home season begins tomorrow when the Sox play ball with Tampa Bay at 2:05 p.m.
The netting is a leaguewide measure to enhance fan safety. It extends netting down the foul lines to protect fans from foul balls and the occasional shattered bat.
