The third base woes continue on for the Red Sox.
Marco Hernandez hasn't improved since injuring his left shoulder last week, and he may not be back this season.
Hernandez suffered a left shoulder subluxation fielding a grounder on May 3 against the Baltimore Orioles, and manager John Farrell said Friday that it's likely it would require surgery, which would end his season.
"Things are moving in that direction," Farrell said.
The Red Sox won't know for sure until Hernandez gets a second MRI in the coming days.
There is some good news for the Red Sox at the hot corner, though, as Brock Holt is steadily improving.
