Ex-closer Keith Foulke to work with Red Sox minor leaguers

FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Add Keith Foulke to the roster of ex-Red Sox players who have rejoined the organization.

Foulke, who threw the final pitch of the 2004 World Series, is back with the Sox as a player-development consultant, the team announced Thursday. Via Twitter, the 43-year-old former closer said he will be working with relief pitchers at the minor league level.

Headed to @RedSox spring training today. So excited to start new position with the team. I will be working with the Minor League Bullpens

Over the past few years, Jason Varitek, Pedro Martinez and Tim Wakefield have led a parade of recently retired players who are serving in some capacity with the Red Sox.
