Prized Red Sox left-hander Eduardo Rodriguez has thrown 152 innings this season (combined majors and minors), but will get a chance to build on his new career-high innings total on Monday in Baltimore.
Rodriguez, who hasn't started in more than a week as the Sox moved to a six-man rotation to help prevent innings from piling up, will start Monday while Joe Kelly gets the nod on Tuesday and Henry Owens finishes the series in Baltimore on Wednesday.
Rodriguez has already thrown 20 percent more innings than the 127 innings he threw last year, but since he threw 145 innings in 2013, he's capable of going passed the general 20 percent rule.
