John Farrell held out his hand and Drew Pomeranz shook it.
There was no finger-pointing or in-your-face arguing in the Red Sox’ dugout after Farrell told Pomeranz he was done. Pomeranz submitted one of the most dominant performances of his career, striking out 11 over six strong innings as the Sox earned a 6-2 win over the Texas Rangers Thursday night
Maybe it hadn’t yet reached dire times for Pomeranz’ status in the starting rotation — the Red Sox just don’t have anybody else to replace him — but it was starting to look ugly. He needed this one.
