Doug Fister, Red Sox look to clinch AL East tonight vs. Astros

As Masahiro Tanaka set a new career high in strikeouts (15 through seven innings) to keep the New York Yankees alive in the American League East, the Red Sox will get a chance to create their own celebration at Fenway Park.

Assuming the Yankees finish out their win over the Blue Jays in the Bronx (they were leading 4-0 in the seventh inning), the Sox magic number is still one, meaning a win over the Houston Astros tonight secures them a division title and the right to spray champagne with glee.

The weekend will be their to rest and relax, and nobody needs that more than Drew Pomeranz, who is scheduled to start on Saturday, just five days after throwing with his lowest velocity of the season.
