It didn’t have to end like this, of course, but at the very least -- and that can’t be stressed enough -- the Red Sox presented Don Orsillo with a video tribute during his last broadcast at Fenway Park.
Orsillo, whose soft, easy voice has been blasting in living rooms across New England for 15 years but was not asked to return to NESN next year, watched the video from his broadcast booth between the seventh and eighth inning on Sunday afternoon.
The crowd erupted when seeing video on the big scoreboard of Orsillo with his booth partner, Jerry Remy.
