NEW YORK — It’s not just members of the Red Sox who are auditioning for jobs with newly installed president of baseball operations Dave Dombrowski.
It might be members of the Yankees as well.
Though the Yankees and Red Sox have traditionally not been trading partners over the years, partly because they are both members of the American League East but also because of the intense and historic nature of their rivalry, Dombrowski is apparently willing to end the Cold War and make deals with the Bombers.
“You’re always open to making any trades you think will better your club,” Dombrowski said.
