Not much surprise to see Steve Selsky optioned to make room for Chase d'Arnaud on the Red Sox bench. Little more surprising to see Robbie Ross Jr. optioned to make room for Ben Taylor.
With Robby Scott having emerged as the Red Sox' new go-to lefty, and with Fernando Abad serving as a second left-handed option, Ross became the odd man out as the Red Sox tried to better balance their bullpen with a new right-hander.
:"With the lineups that we’re facing, three left handers is a little bit of maybe not the best matchup that we can provide or best option available to us," manager John Farrell said.
