David Ortiz retirement tour – one last trip to Seattle

David Ortiz (then David Arias) signed with the Seattle Mariners as an amateur free agent out of the Dominican Republic in November 1992 at the age of 16 (Arias was his mother's maiden name). He would play four years in the minors before being traded to the Twins as the Player to Be Named in exchange for Dave Hollins.

The Boston Red Sox will travel to Seattle for a four game series beginning Monday, Aug. 1. It will be Ortiz's final trip to the Emerald City.
