Dalier Hinojosa‘s major league debut didn’t go quite as smoothly as he probably would have liked. In 1.2 innings pitched last night against the Yankees, he was forced to escape a pair of bases loaded jams and walked three batters. Nonetheless, he showed the guile necessary to escape the jams and avoid any runs scoring, striking out a pair and generating weak contact. If he is able to tune down his control problems, playing up his great stuff, then Hinojosa could play a role this season in a depleted Red Sox bullpen.
The Red Sox signed Hinojosa to a $4.
