ATLANTA — The Red Sox played inspired baseball last night, and here lies the dilemma as general manager Ben Cherington and his trusted front office attempt to figure out what to do with this roster in the coming weeks.
Nights like these, when the Sox cruised to a worthy 5-2 win over the Braves, only add confusion to a season that must be maddening for not only the casual fan, but the most well-versed statisticians in Fenway Park.
Are they any good, or aren’t they?
“Very good pitching, some timely hitting, a good mix tonight,” said Sox manager John Farrell.
