Red Sox manager John Farrell picked the right day to rest right fielder Mookie Betts and give Chris Young a start against a right-handed starting pitcher.
Young continued his career dominance of White Sox pitcher Mike Pelfrey by hitting two home runs and a RBI double in the first five innings while leading the Red Sox to their sixth straight win, 6-3, today at Fenway Park.
The right-handed hitting Young, who went 3-for-4 with five RBI, is now 10-for-24 all-time against Pelfrey. Young, who is normally in the lineup against lefties, has hit six of his seven home runs against right-handed pitching this season.
