Sale had his best season in 2017, his first in a Red Sox uniform. And on Saturday, he revealed one reason why.
“I was new here last year,” he said at the Red Sox’ Winter Weekend at Foxwoods Casino. “I came in and felt like I had to prove something. I hadn’t thrown a single pitch in front of any (reporters), in front of any of the fans.
