Tim Neverett is so much more than the new radio voice of the Red Sox. He’s also a new cast member in a Fenway Park soap opera that dates back to last summer.
It was in August, you’ll recall, that Don Orsillo, the longtime TV voice of the Red Sox on NESN, was moved out in favor of Dave O’Brien, the team’s radio voice on 93.7 WEEI.
The protests by Red Sox fans over Orsillo’s exodus were loud and emotional. Collateral damage was done to O’Brien, who was quite popular on the radio end and is viewed as one of the game’s premier play-by-play callers.
