Brock Holt will not play in Monday night's game against the Chicago White Sox due to a knee injury suffered on Sunday night against the Detroit Tigers. The injury is not considered serious and Holt should be back in the lineup on Tuesday.
"He's improved today, yet at the recommendation of the medical staff another day was needed," Red Sox manager John Farrell said. "Everything is hopefully pointed to him returning to the lineup tomorrow. But felt like another day would do him well."
Holt initially injured himself while rounding first after a single in the first inning.
