MILWAUKEE — Milwaukee Brewers third baseman Elian Herrera was injured Saturday night when he collided with teammate Shane Peterson as they tried to chase down a looping fly ball in left field.
Herrera, left fielder Peterson and shortstop Jean Segura were all going after a ball hit by Cincinnati's Skip Schumaker. Eugenio Suarez scored on the double to tie the game 7-7.
Herrera did not move for more than 5 minutes while being treated by Brewers trainers before being rolled over onto his back. He was placed on a backboard and stretcher and left the field in an ambulance.
