' Esurance MLB All-Star Game Final Vote campaign fell short on Thursday, when the Red Sox shortstop finished second in the American League balloting to Royals third baseman Mike Moustakas.
For the first time in the competition's 16-year history, both winners prevailed in distinct fashion. Justin Turner of the Dodgers set a record with 20.8 million votes, and Moustakas (15.6 million votes) became the second player to win the competition two times. They are now officially on the rosters for the 88th All-Star Game presented by Mastercard, to be held on Tuesday at Marlins Park.
