The 2020 Red Sox season hasn’t had many bright spots. Sunday was one of them.
Rookie Bobby Dalbec hit a two-run home run in the second at-bat of his major league debut.
The home run came in the third inning when Dalbec, a right-handed hitter, hit one off Nationals pitcher Javy Guerra along the right-field line and into the bleachers to give the Red Sox an 8-2 lead.

Dalbec, who struck out in his first at-bat, was called up from the team’s Alternate Site in Pawtucket to play first base after they traded first baseman Mitch Moreland to the Padres earlier on Sunday.
