Prior to tonight's series opener against the Baltimore Orioles, the Boston Red Sox activated outfielder Mookie Betts from the 10-day disabled list. To make room on the 25-man roster, the club optioned first baseman Sam Travis to Triple-A Pawtucket.
President of baseball operations Dave Dombrowski made the announcement.

Betts, 25, was placed on the disabled list on June 1 (retroactive to May 29) with a left abdominal strain. He has missed the Red Sox's last 14 games, with the club going 8-6 in that time.
