Matt Barnes was recalled from Pawtucket yesterday to make the start in Steven Wright’s place who is on the 7 Day Concussion DL. Barnes has been up previously in the bullpen this year and had struggled in his previous outings. Barnes would make his first major league start, however it wouldn’t be his best outing. Barnes would end up giving up 6 runs in his 5 innings of work. The Sox offense was not able to make up the damage and the Sox lose the first game of the series.
The game was scoreless until the 3rd inning.
