Andrew Benintendi again odd man out against left-handed starter

Once again, the Red Sox are facing a left-handed pitcher, and Andrew Benintendi is the odd man out.

Benintendi is back on the bench so that Chris Young can make his usual platoon start in left field. Manager John Farrell used the same outfield alignment against left-handed starters Monday and Tuesday in Chicago, taking advantage of Bradley's hot bat and 1.176 OPS against left-handed pitchers this season.

"He’s got a track record at the minor leagues of being very productive against left-handers as well," Farrell said. "But then there’s been times where it’s gone the other way.
