It may not be the “whole team,” but Red Sox manager Alex Cora and the World Series trophy will have some company on their visit to Puerto Rico this weekend.
The Red Sox announced Friday afternoon that Cora is flying the 2018 trophy to his hometown of Caguas for a celebration on Saturday. And according to the team, Red Sox pitcher David Price, utility man Brock Holt, catcher Sandy Leon, pitcher Eduardo Rodriguez, and catcher Christian Vazquez, a Puerto Rico native, are all tagging along on the trip.
Red Sox chairman Tom Werner, team president Sam Kennedy, assistant hitting coach Andy Barkett, first base coach Tom Goodwin, advance scouting and statistical analysis coach Ramon Vazquez (who is also a Puerto Rico native), and a number of front office members will also be on the flight out of Logan airport Saturday morning.
