After a strange month of April, the Red Sox are surely happy to flip the calendar to May.
Not that the opening month was all bad, but it was largely defined by offensive inconsistency, and it will be perhaps most remembered for a relentless flu bug and a rather bizarre fight over a dangerous slide and one dangerous pitch.
