Aaron Boone’s reaction to the Red Sox base-running: The Red Sox scored a 9-3 win over the Yankees at Fenway Park on Sunday, doing so partly through aggressive base-running (as well as Boston pitchers holding New York to 0-for-5 with runners in scoring position).

Boston stole nine bases, a team record for a single game:

The defeat meant the third place Red Sox (37-35) took the series from the first place Yankees (50-24). Despite trailing New York in the standings by 12 games, Yankee manager Aaron Boone had to admit that Boston was able to impose itself on the base paths.
