The Red Sox have reportedly found their new ace.
According to The Boston Globe’s Julian McWilliams, the Red Sox are on the verge of acquiring left-handed starter Garrett Crochet from the Chicago White Sox.
The Red Sox are reportedly relinquishing four prospects to pry Crochet out of Chicago, with The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal reporting that Boston is giving up catcher Kyle Teel, outfielder Braden Montgomery, infielder Chase Meidroth, and right-handed pitcher Wikelman Gonzalez in the move.
It’s a sizable haul for Boston to give up, but one that now nets the Red Sox an ace-level southpaw with a very high ceiling.
