Duran will start the year in left after having a more than competent run in center field a year ago, finishing in the 95th percentile of Outs Above Average (+10), while playing more than 70% of his innings in center. Depending on how some imminent prospects (and already here prospects) handle the challenge in the big leagues, Duran could bounce between the two spots again this year to free Ceddanne Rafaela in a super-utility role.
At the plate, Duran had a career year, finishing eighth in the MVP voting and producing an 8.5-bWAR season. Duran had 48 doubles, 14 triples, 21 home runs, and 34 stolen bases, while leading all of MLB with 735 plate appearances.
