Crawford was incredibily durable in 2024. He made 33 starts, tied for the most in baseball. In today’s landscape, that’s an accomplishment in and of itself. In those 33 starts, Crawford went at least five innings while allowing three or fewer runs in 20 of them. For a back half of the rotation starter, that’s not half bad.
At times, Crawford showed the potential to be more than just a number four or five starter. Through his first eight starts, the righty posted a 1.75 ERA with a 24.3% strikeout rate. His stuff remained excellent, as he showcased five pitches, all having qualities that allow them to be effective.
