The New York Mets are in need of outfield help (along with any kind of offensive help), but one options they are rumored to be likely to pass on is Boston Red Sox trade chip Shane Victorino.

Per source, despite need for OF help, Mets not intersted in Victorino at the moment

Victorino, 34, is in his walk year but would still be owed a pro-rated portion of his hefty $13 million salary for this year -- a potential deterrent for the cash-strapped Mets.
There's also the matter of Victorino's small sample size of work this season. He's only appeared in 31 games (88 at-bats), not exactly setting the world on fire with a .250 average, 1 HR and 4 RBI. In short, unless the Red Sox are willing to eat some of Victorino's salary for 2015, they may be saddled with him until the winter.
