The Boston Red Sox designated Pablo Sandoval for assignment yesterday, and appear to already have identified the guy they want to take over at third base.
According to Guillermo Celis of ESPN Deportes, the Red Sox have "intensified" talks with the Chicago White Sox about acquiring Todd Frazier.
Mencioné anoche que si Boston había puesto en asignación a Sandoval, es porque “planean” algo. Hoy se intensifican pláticas por Todd Frazier

Translated, this is what the tweet says: "I mentioned last night that if Boston had put Sandoval on assignment, it's because they 'plan' something. Todd Frazier talks intensified today."
Some had though that third baseman Rafael Devers, Boston's top prospect who was recently promoted to Triple-A, would get the call up to the majors. However, general manager Dave Dombrowski said they have no plans to do that at this time.
Frazier is batting .210 with 16 home runs and 44 RBIs in 79 games so far this season.
